Nigeria U23 set up clash with Zambia in All Africa Games race

The Nigeria U23 national team on Saturday powered over Gabon via a 6 – 1 aggregate scoreline to set up a final round meeting with the Fighton Simukonda coached Zambia U23 team.

The Samson Siasia coached side led 4 – 1 from the first leg and completed the rout with two second half goals at home in the final leg.

Goals from Segun Oduduwa and Junior Ajayi helped the Dream Team to the next round of the qualifiers.

Samson Siasia’s boys will face Zambia in the final qualifying round in order to pick a ticket to Mozambique.

The first leg of the match against Zambia will take place on March 21 in Abuja.

The Zambia U23 national team is currently in camp preparing for the upcoming match was given a free ticket to the final round after Madagascar withdrew from the race.

The squad called to camp include:

Goalkeepers: Toaster Nsabata (Nchanga Rangers), Kenny Mumba (Red Arrows), Charles Mweemba (Nkana)

Defenders: Moses Siansumo (Indeni), Alex Sichone (Arrows), Chishimba Changala, Bornwell Silengo, Bernard Mapili (Zesco United), Salulani Phiri (Zanaco), Chewe Mukuka (Konkola Blades), Billy Mutale (Power Dynamos), Chibesa Kunda (Green Buffaloes).

Midfielders: Shadreck Malambo, Bruce Musakanya (Arrows), Lubambo Musonda (FC Ulisses, Armenia), Richard Kasonde, Julius Situmbeko, Larry Bwalya (Power Dynamos), Nsofwa Mwansa (Kabwe Warriors), Mukuka Mulenga (Bloemfontein Celtic, South Africa), Lukwembe Chisenga (Napsa Stars), Evans Mwanza (National Assembly), Mbita Chalwe (Nkana), Aubrey Chamulwanda (Rangers), Paul Simpemba (Lime Hotspurs).

Nigeria is not parading u-26 and rather its zambia who invites all players from their clubsides….This team with our Under 20 defeated our Top 4 clubs in a pre season friendly in january and more reason for us to believe that our best players are not in our league but on d street….Siasia won silver @u-20 in 2005 and Olympics 2008…Be @ alert….Hope Alex Iwobi from Arsenal will be ready with his Allegiance in process

    • @ghanaboy, Yes he is the same player. He is so good that he features for the U20, U23 and the senior national team. The boy is a talent and he is headed for big things if he is handled well by his handlers. Thanks.

  4. crespo,make it clear who those dwarfs are and i will respond.is it your u20 opponent or u23 opponents? but if an african can call his fellow african dwarf,then what will stop the whites from callhng us apes? i remember that you guys were crying when the your captain was called ape in the u17 women wc.i second B.W BOTHA ON THIS “GIVE AFRIKANA A GUN,AND THEY WILL KILL THEMSELVES”..you are really deficient in thought
