Nchanga Rangers set to complete Ifoni Pepo acquisition

MTN Super League side Nchanga Rangers are set to complete the acquisition of Ifoni Pepo from ZESCO United the ZamFoot Crew understands.

Pepo, who came highly rated, joined ZESCO United in July but has failed to tie down a position in the team.

The 25 year old winger was snapped up from Oman’s top-flight side Sur SC and was expected to bring his speed and agility to the Zega Mambo squad when he signed in July.

He has however not been able get regular game time at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and hence Brave Nchanga Rangers have moved in swiftly for the services of the Nigerian winger, the ZamFoot Crew has learned.

An official announcement is expected soon once the formalities are completed and could be available for selection as early as this weekend.

Pepo signed a two year deal with ZESCO United alongside compatriot Alaekwe Chijioke, a 27-year-old striker who once turned out for Akwa United.

At Nchanga Stadium he is expected to work with the experienced George ‘Chicken’ Lwandamina as he looks to gain some game time.

Pepo also played for Mozambican Moçambola sides Clube Ferroviário da Beira and Black Bulls before heading to the Middle East.

Nchanga Rangers are currently fourth on the MTN Super League table with 26 points after playing 15 games, and nine points shy of log leaders, Power Dynamos who have played two games more.
