Congratulations Patson!!!
@GSK11, you know man I feel pity for Zambian football because with a proper coach these boys will be an asset to the National team and perform just like they do at their clubs. We don’t have a coach. We need a coach with the standards of a top European coach black or white it does not matter. Lwandamina, Chambeshi, Chiyangi are not qualified to coach the National team period
I don’t understand the reason why local coaches keep on accepting appointments fully knowing they do not have qualifications and technical know-how to coach the National Team, some of them not a local ZPL or Division 1 and 2 clubs. Ba FAZ should recruit coaches with Government/FIFA´s help send about 5 or even 10 for 1 year coaching courses in Germany. Ba late Dick Chama, late was on a 2 year coaching course in Germany at some point
Coaches like ba late zoom played for Aston Villa in England at some point. Major Brightwell Banda was trained in Germany for 2 years. Other coaches like late Willie Phiri, Godfrey Chitalu, Boniface Simutowe, Alex Chola, Dickson Makwaza had played more than 50 international games for Zambia before turning in to coaching
Nowadays it is like anyone who has kicked a ball can coach. That is an illusion. The standard of football in Zambia today is a mirror of the quality of the coaches that we have today. The coaches of today have turned to coaching for only one purpose, a means of survival. Most of these cannot coach in South Africa at all. It is for this reason I have respect for Wedson Nyirenda. He is coaching a SA club. I don’t see any local Zambian coach who can get a job in a South African club
Government and FAZ should solicit for scholarships in coaching from Western and Eastern Europe with the view to sending educated former footballers for training.
On the other note I wonder why former professional football players like Andrew Tembo, Mwape Miti, Johnstone Bwalya, Charles Musonda, Stone Nyirenda, and Luck M´siska have not ventured in to the coaching business at Zambian clubs. With their knowledge I think a lot of clubs could benefit from their experience
Conclusion is that local coaches need training. This can be done either by sending them abroad or hiring a FIFA certified trainer of coaches and let him carry the training from Zambia
Just my opinion. I rest my case
