Musonda receives permit as he describes move as ‘dream come true’

Former Zanaco Football Club striker Mwape Musonda has described his move to Orlando Pirates as a dream come true.

Musonda, who has received his work-permit, is now officially ready to play after being registered with the Premier Soccer side.

In what was a surprise swoop for a player who hardly played at a competitive level in the past year, the Zambian international’s abilities were enough to impress coach Eric Tinkler in a few friendlies that Orlando Pirates played his team when he was studying at Boston University.

The Zambian international signed from Africa Sport Youth Academy and says he is impressed with the spirit among the players at Pirates.

Musonda, joins a list of Zambians who have played for Pirates such as Isaac Chansa, Collins Mbesuma and Davis Mwape.

  1. It is a good side, quite professional actually…hope you use it as a stepping stone to greater things, like Chris did at Jomo ending up in Denmark, Germany, etc…Good luck sonny…

  2. @Prince Yes Pirates may be professional but can never be compared to Jomo if a player wants to use SA as a stepping stone to Europe. Jomo has exported more players who have made a mark in Europe than Pirates. At Jomo a player may receive little money but can easily get in Europe and get settled

  3. Ooh,do they mean he is Zambian not Zambia Nation team player ,then if so how many senior caps and were did he acrue those can someone please shed more light on this because I smell something fishy concerning this lad.Next is we will see him leading the troops instead of the tried and tested.
