Nominees for the 2019 MTN/FAZ Transitional Superleague awards have been revealed but surprisingly Zesco United head coach George Lwandamina is missing from the coach of the year nominees according to the list accessed by the ZamFoot Crew.
Lwandamina guided the Ndola giants to a double winning the teams eighth league title and the first-ever ABSA Cup. Chisi Mbewe whose Red Arrows finished two places behind Zesco United in Stream A, Aggrey Chiyangi who led Green Eagles to their first CAF Champions League qualification and Srdjan Zivojnov who guided Buildcon to a Continental football slot will battle it out for the award.
Chiyangi won the award last year after he peeped Red Arrows boss Chisi Mbewe and Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi to the accolade.
Former Zesco United striker Lazarus Kambole, Former Forest Rangers attacker Austin Muwowo and Red Arrows Captain Bruce Musakanya will battle for the player of the year award. The trio is also battling for the fans player of the year award.
Kambole who has since moved to South African PSL giants Kaizer Chiefs was influential for Zesco United helping them win the league and the ABSA Cup. He scored eight goals in the league and one in the ABSA Cup and also created a number of goals.
Muwowo was a joint top goalscorer in the league and assisted seven goals for Forest Rangers while Bruce Musakanya led the rejuvenation of the Airmen on only missed out on Continental football on the final day.
Former Buildcon duo of Kings Kangwa and Lameck Banda alongside Biston Banda will square off for the young player of the year award.
