Nkana came from a goal down as they defeated Zesco United 2-1 in the Barclays Cup 2018 second quarter final played at the Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday.
It was substitute Maybin Kalengo who had put the Ndola-based outfit in front on the stroke of halftime, against the run of play, when he intercepted Musa Mohammed’s defensive pass to open the scoring with a low effort, ten minutes after replacing Mwape Mwelwa, who had been stretchered off with injury.
However, Nkana would equalize six minutes after the break with man-of-the-match Idris Mbombo equalizing from short range, before breaking the hearts of Zesco United faithfulls with a headed goal from a cross by Musa Mohammed in additional time.
The victory meant that Nkana joined Young Green Buffaloes in the semi-finals. They will play the winner of the fourth quarter final between Mufulira Wanderers and Power Dynamos.
