U23 national team coach Fighton Simukonda has recalled Israel based defender Emmanuel Mbola to fill in the gap at left back for the return leg against Ivory Coast after Boyd Mkandawire was red carded in the first leg.
Simukonda said that he was looking at having quality players in his team.
“Boyd is playing so well and this has come as a blow to us. He [Mkandawire] really did well in defence and was needed for the return leg. We will call Mbola as a replacement because we want quality. We don’t want to leave anything to chance,” Simukonda said.
Evans Kangwa and Lubambo Musonda are other players playing abroad who are not part of the U23 squad vying for a place at Senegal CAF U23 CAF Championship which will serve as platform for Olympic qualification.
Zambia play Ivory Coast in the return leg on 1st August.

I seem to be confused with the reporting of Zamfoot, there is no artcle pubblished that lubambo musonda is playing abroad but that he is unattached, and today you are saying he is playing abroad. Please let us know the latest news on this chap.
Sometimes read the comments, there is also some great information about players from some of the bloggers. If you read the comments you would know by now he is back in Armenia.
Lubambo is indeed back in Armenia albeit with a new Club…..He scored a goal during a preseason friendly with his new team over the Weekend…..
Lubambo is back in Armenia. And on another not Sunzu is signing for lille this week.
Hai.kindly update me on Evans Kangwan,is he really back @ Nkana o not?
Make sure you include Lubambo Musonda in the return leg,we don’t want our BPs to be elevated as was the case in the match against Nigeria.

How old is Mbola?
He is under 23, that is what is important.
The problem is we don’t have strikers.
itz a mst win game
Zambia has struggled to qualify for the Worldcup in recent years. Looking at the current crop of players its difficult to tell if Zambia could top the group. The key to all qualifications is to assemble a strong squad with quality players. For me the strongest team Zambia has ever assembled is the class of 2012 who also failed to live to our expectations to defend Afcon cup 2013. Can Zambia top the group if we are paired with eg Group E ,Zambia , Ivory Coast, Uganda and Cameron????
Big NOOOOOOOOO!
Not to sound pessimistic but even back in the days when winning at home (independence stadium) was a norm we still failed to qualify for the world cup now that even winning at home against teams like Namibia is such a struggle its hard to see how we can qualify for the world cup. The basic preparations like having a coach on hand are already failing us so how can we make it if right from the start we cant get our house in order.
There is no way we can be paired with these teams.
Mbola was born in July 1993.. Those who are doubting him wil also do the something to patson and ngoma
we need lubambo musonda & evans kangwa 2 sharpen up our striking force.
Yes we need these 2 players
Emmanuel Mbolo is finished. Don’t we have other better players. So Boyd is better than this Mbolo thing.
Mbola not Mbolo.
Yes include those quality lads if we are to make it to Senegal lads like Kangwa,Lubambo. It is a positive sign that we now can draw away all is remaining is just to start scoring and winning at home and bang we will be back in business very soon than expected.
Yes this Boyd lad is good if not the best left back we have at the moment but Mbola has just been recalled due to the fact that Boyd is suspended for this match.
The problem with our nation timers we don’t have the strikers please let’s have nation ward trials starting from division one ,when are we having the nation coach we don’t have time ba faz do something nigeria has a coach
Tried and tested…remember this was already done and it produced close to no one new in the national team.
Hope u win the return leg
We dont want BP’s anymore
