Striker Kingstone Mutandwa was the hero for Servette on Sunday, scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 victory over Lausanne-Sport in the Swiss Super League.
Mutandwa started the encounter at the Stade de la Tuilière and delivered when it mattered most, converting from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute to give Servette a crucial away victory.
The Zambian forward calmly dispatched the spot-kick to break the deadlock after the two sides had gone into the break level.
The goal proved to be enough as Servette held on for all three points, with Mutandwa completing the full 90 minutes.
The victory was an important response for Servette, who had suffered consecutive league defeats to Lugano and St. Gallen before Sunday’s trip to Lausanne.
For Mutandwa, the goal marks his first league goal for Servette since joining the Swiss club, providing an early boost as he looks to establish himself in his new surroundings.
The 23-year-old striker is currently on loan at Servette from Italian side Cagliari.
