Collins Mbesuma on Wednesday evening again found his scoring boots when he scored for his club Mpumalanga Black Aces in their 2 – 2 away draw against Joseph Musonda’s Polokwane City.
With Aces down by a goal, Mbesuma pulled one back for his team in 30th minute but his side still conceded a late second half goal despite going into the break leading 2 – 1. Joseph Musonda did not play.
This was Mbesuma’s sixth goal in 26 appearances in what has been one of his best season’s in terms of game-time.
Mukuka Mulenga was also in action for Bloemfontein Celtic this time making the starting line-up in their 2 – 1 away win at Chippa United.
Kennedy Mweene was relegated to the bench with return of Dennis Onyango as he saw his Sundowns club go down 1 – 0 at home against run away leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
Bornwell Mwape only played 34 minutes for Amazulu as continues his return from injury in their 0 – 0 draw with Polokwane City. Amazulu are deep in relegation waters standing second from bottom.
Chris Katongo played 39 minutes for Bidvest Wits in their 1 – 0 loss to ten man Free State Stars.
Zamfoot’s ‘Big Steve from SA’ summarised the midweek action below:
Mbesuma surely has found his scoring boots scoring again yesterday against Joseph Musondas Polokwane City in a 2-2 draw. Surprisingly Joseph Musonda only made the bench. He has been the most used player for Polokwane city this campaign maybe fatigue is catching up.
It is also good news that Mukuka Mulenga is finally making a first team spot at Celtics. I think he has finally convinced his coach of his value to the team. They won 2-1 beating Chippa United.
Mwape Musonda did not even make the bench for Pirates. I’m beginning to wonder if this boys career at Pirates will ever take off from the ground. He has shown some deft touches when he has played coming in from the bench but then again maybe walking into such a big club at the first try was not the best idea. Maybe he is a player Janza should consider assessing.
Straight back to the Chipolopolo starting 11…Miroslav Klose!
Nabakula, Patson Daka is better.
So it is now headlines when Mbesuma scores a single goal! Interesting to know he has scored 6 in 26 appearances and someone wants him back in the National Team! Awesome…..
An average of 0.2 goals per game, kikikikikikikikikiki.
This is a useless league and i wonder why Zambian players should struggle to play regularly. It may be understandable for Mayuka in England but not being a regular in S.A is pathetic, more so for small teams in S.A
I’m not defending it but I’d like to understand your statement. Could you qualify why you think it is “useless”
Thanks Zammfoot.
You are welcome. We always want to air the fans perspective
@Roots do you know that the very same league you say is useless..about 90% of the players who leave for europe are not bench warmers in their teams..they go straight into their teams’ line ups..e.g jali, dikgacoi, serero, claasen, ivanovs, kola…and bench warmers went on to be first team players in europe e.g sive phekezela, nyasha mushweku, lebo phiri, xolani mdaki, mark mayambela etc.
@ Merrick this is one of the very reasons I laugh off such unqualified comments like the one made by Roots and a few others.
MR STEVE, CAN U HELP ME WITH YOUR CELL NUMBER OR YOU CAN CONTACT ME ON THIS NUMBER +260 979506925
mbesuma tym is up, the only thing is his experience 2 help young boys lik patson, patrick mayuka etc.
Mbesuma should be included in the COSAFA squad.
I thought we are rebuilding for 2017,but am thinking to my self why recall former prolific goal getter granpa Collins and not use Patson and friends to gain experience.
You should use some of these former greats sparingly to boost the morale of the young generation. Success in Football comes in the way you blend experience (from the old) and excitement (from the young.
i thnk its time to giv the upcomin guys enough game time, esp the home league stars.we hv very gud players at home who ar by far better than mbesuma.
