Chipolopolo striker Emmanuel Mayuka made his Egyptian league debut yesterday as his club Zamalek lost 1 – 0 to Ismaily.
Zamalek conceded the goal from a set piece just before the break and failed to recover until the end of the game.
This was only their second loss of the season with 15 games played.
The Zambian international was at the heart of the Zamalek attack in a 4 3 3 formation but only clocked 58 minutes in the game and was replaced by Morsy.
Despite the loss, Zamalek remain in second position but have lost ground on leader Al Ahly who won against ENNPI to extend the gap at the top to four points.

This mayuka guy needs to improve otherwise he will be another football player whose career will fizzle out before the appropriate time.
He requires to be friend Mbesuma now
Those people who watched the game how was his performance?
Poor guy can’t get a break, this is not good for his confidence.
he shud scoring goals
I can give him a benefit of doubt for now, being the first game. The Egyptian league is highly technical, competitive and very strong. If Mayuka can start scoring goals for Zamalek in that league, then I will confidently say that Mayuka is discovering his form. But for now, it’s a little bit too early to ask much from him.
@ Billy you’re very right there. I hope for his own and for Zambia’s sakes Mayuka comes good. But then have you noticed how he’s looking a bit chubby (especially the face). Needs to watch his weight
The guy just needs to be eased into the team. He’s been there for less than 2 months and he starts in a fixture. Good thing is that the coach has faith in him, but it is really up to Mayuka to rise to the occasion.
if he wil fail to score for three games he wil be back on bench
Ba Mayuka Kuwayayafye
Has Mayuka ever been red carded in a game? Not necessary, but it tells you the man is not aggressive enough. Mbesuma is very aggressive if we have to learn from him even katongo, jealous down. You know there is no offense creating fouls when your eyes are on the ball. You have to be a little nasty – Spit, crash them like a goods train, dive, small bad things. I feel you have the same talent with the likes of Dede Ayew but they are aggressive and constantly engaged, no moment to be absent minded mpaka lyatenta.
