Green Eagles Women have made a bold move ahead of the decisive phase of the 2025–26 Zambia Premier League Women’s Super League, completing the loan signings of nine players — led by former Zambia Under-20 international Margaret Chisenga.
The Lusaka-based club confirmed all nine arrivals on short-term deals running to the end of the season, underlining their intent to push strongly up the table.
Chisenga joins from Green Buffaloes Women FC with a growing reputation as one of the country’s most versatile young players. Technically assured and tactically sharp, the 21-year-old is comfortable across the backline and in midfield, offering options at right-back, centre-back and in a holding role.
A graduate of Zambia’s youth national teams, Chisenga represented the Under-20 side in 2021 after progressing through the Under-17 ranks. Her development has been sharpened by competitive loan spells at Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA) and YASA Queens, where she featured during the first half of the current campaign.
Green Eagles believe her composure in possession and range of passing will add control and balance as the season reaches its critical stage.
The Eagles have also strengthened across the squad with the additions of Rosemary Nyirongo, Mwamba Evelyn and Christine Nyirongo from YASA Queens; Esnart Mumba and Taonga Mwandala from Moving Eagles; Susan Mulungwa from Victorious Academy; Ingutu Muchahabali from Red Arrows Women FC; and Given Phiri from Konkola Blades FC.
Several of the new arrivals bring strong development pedigrees. Given Phiri is a product of Pataaki Girls, the Nyirongo sisters came through the Luyando Foundation Girls system, while goalkeeper Ingutu Muchahabali is a former Zambia Under-17 international.
Green Eagles Women FC manager Lieutenant Alice Mupaya welcomed the reinforcements, expressing confidence they would add depth and competitiveness to the squad, and wishing the players “a delightful stay” as they settle in.
Eagles currently sit sixth in the Women’s Super League with 40 points from 21 matches. With fresh energy injected into the squad and Chisenga leading the intake, the club has made a clear statement of ambition for the remainder of the campaign.
