Lubambo helps Gandzasar progress in cup

Chipolopolo midfielder Lubambo Musonda was in action on Wednesday afternoon when he helped his Armenian club Gandzasar Kapan put a foot in the next round of the Armenian cup a 1 – 0 first leg away win over Mika.

The 21 year old midfielder started and completed the match in the right and he will be happy with his contribution as he was a danger going forward his team.

He was denied an assist in the 38th minute when he made a good run on the right to square the ball which was tapped into the back of the net but the referee ruled the goal offside but Gandzasar came back to score in similar fashion 2 minutes later through Alexander Rakiche.

However, Lubambo’s best chance came in the 78th minute when he was set on a counter attacking run on the right which saw him dribble his marker in the box to unleash a thunderbolt which came off the upright for the score to remain at 1- 0 at the end of 90 minutes despite him creating another chance in injury time from a cross.

The former Power Dynamos player has a game on Saturday afternoon before he flys out to Ndola for the Chipolopolo game against Congo Brazaville.

  1. And he is actually running out of time, at 21 he really should be in a bigger league. I hope he has an active manager/agent looking out for him rather than these often too common managers who just wait for a bigger club to approach instead of going all out to advertise the boy to bigger leagues.
