Zambian referee Nancy Kasitu will be raising the refereeing flag high representing Zambia at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Dominican Republic 2024 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic alongside the Copper Princesses.
Kasitu is the only Zambian and one of the four African assistant referees representing the continent.
In total, there are six African referees at the eighth edition of the junior World Cup.

Kashitu swung in action in the final game of the opening day in Santo Domingo when Korea Republic took on Colombia.
Ugandan referee Shamirah Nabbada oversaw the match, with assistants Fanta Kone (Mali) and Nancy Kasitu (Zambia). Danish referee Frida Klarlund was the fourth official.
The FIFA Referees Committee announced the match officials who are now officiating at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Dominican Republic 2024™, which kicked off yesterday back in August.
A total of 38 female match officials, comprising 12 referees, 24 assistant referees and 2 support referees, will take charge of the matches at the ongoing tournament.
Additionally, the Football Video Support (FVS) system, a simplified alternative to VAR, will continue to be tested in this tournament, after being used for the first time in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Colombia 2024™.
