Chipolopolo skipper Rainford Kalaba says the Chipolopolo are focused on winning the the 2018 Russia World Cup qualifier on Sunday against Nigeria.
Kalaba told The Post that his team would like to welcome new coach Wedson Nyirenda (Wada)Â with a win.
“We are looking forward to the game. We are a full squad, everyone is putting in their best, from now onwards it will be hard work. It will be good to welcome the coach with a win on Sunday,” Kalaba said.
“Football is played on the pitch. They (Nigeria) have been Champions and we have been champions, so the final whistle will determine who will win.”
He further urged the fans to turn out in huge numbers to support the team on Sunday.
“The only thing I can say is that supporters should be there for us, because it is not ours alone, it is for the whole country. When the supporters are behind the team, the stadium fully packed, we will always get results,” the TP Mazembe player said.

Well said Captain.Lets do the talking on the pitch. Nayo Nayo Chipolopolo!
Yes we can. we dont play names like ‘Worst’ Africans, we play football.
That’s the way to go our skipper.Chipolopolo all the way
Nairaland headline on Monday: Super Eagles goes down in Indola, Zambia. 4 goals to 1.
Thats sounds like it, but the scoreline is too big. Maybe a 2-0 or 1-0 win for Zambia.
I like that one! Chipolopolo all the way..
Well said “Master”. The key men for Zambia is Kalaba, Chisamba, Sunzu and Mbesuma. I really dont see Nigeria surviving in Ndola. Zambia plays better with teams like that, especially west Africans. We have a point to prove and I hope the Copper Bullets rise to the occasion on Sunday.
I would have flown straight to Ndola had it not been for work commitments.
as long as its a win.all the best chipolopolo!
As for me I will just wait for 90minutes because zambia has disapointed me a lot.having said that I think both teams have the equal chance of winning, been a zambian I would like the chipolopolo to carry the day I think no predication for me
At the end of the game you all will stand up and clap for nigeria
Damn!!!!!!!!!! You’re lying niga…..you gona clap for us and comforting yourself on return fixture. That will be too late for ya.
Yea.. that’s how we roll. We tell them we don’t have money to fly the team. They become happy and have high hope they will beat us. We catch them unawares by flying a day to the match in a chattered flight, then beat them the next day and fly out immediately.
Lol. That’s how big boys roll.
Zambia 0-3 Nigeria
naija guy nd his pipo knows that sp eagles no longer fly high nd can b easily shot down by copper bullets
All the best to Chipolopolo
Nigeria 2 Zambia 1
A normal zambian can’t say you will all stand up and clap for Nigeria. Me being citizen of Zambia am standing up and clap for Zambia as it will bit Nigeria (1-0)shame on Nigeria SUPPORTERS . SUNDAY
Zambia need to win all home games, that said it is a 50,50 chance for both .A draw would not surprise me as well.
It looks like Wada has a cake to enjoy. Kalaba the boss.
Zambia always surprises big teams.go zambia and reduce nigeria’ fame.only a one zero will do the damage.
