Power Dynamos head coach Osward Mutapa feels the moment defender Aaron Katebe was sent off cost his side the game against Red Arrows.
The defending Champions were leading the match and in control until the 47th minute when Aaron Katebe was given marching orders by the referee for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity just outside the box.
Mutapa feels his side was in control of the game until that moment which the Airmen utilized because they are a very experienced side.
“Just one moment of a mistake has cost us the game. Playing one man down for 40 minutes was very difficult playing an experienced team,” Mutapa said.
“Yes we had the game in our hands but we gave it away,” he added.
Mutapa feels his side would have won the match if the Red Card did not come which gave Red Arrows a numerical advantage over the hosts at a packed Arthur Davies Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“We were in control of the game until the Red card. It’s part of the game. We feel we could have won it if we were equal playing an experienced side with one man down they capitalized, yes we made changes but not enough we played a very experienced side,” he said.
Jackson Mulambia put Power Dynamos in the lead in the 12th minute with a sublime finish before Albert Kangwanda could level matters with an even better strike, a brilliant freekick in the 52nd minute.
Brian Chilimina sealed the win for the Airmen in the 85th minute to make sure the Airmen walked away with Maximum points and moved to second place on the MTN Super League log table.
