Janza to ring changes in final against Malawi

Chipolopolo coach Honour Janza says he will make changes to the team that will play in the Cosafa Plate Final today against Malawi.

Janza says he wants to give each player a 100% chance to prove themselves if they are worth the call up to the national team.

“We have injuries but like I said, we have other players and we also need to see them. We have Zimba [Joseph], Mudenda [Kennedy], Jimmy [Ndhlovu]. Jimmy played the first game and Mudenda has been coming in, but we realy want to see everybody, so ideally there will three or four changes to give everybody a chance to play a part, to prove themselves. Will give everybody 100% chance to expose themselves and to prove that they are worth being with us,” Janza said.

Zimba and Danny Munyao are the only player who has not featured yet.

Janza said the objectives of the outting in South Africa were to defend [the title], to prepare and expose one or two players to see if they are ready for the next assignment.

“We have seen what Aaron Katebe can do in defense, we have seen what young players like Paul Katema can with stand the pressure in midfield also Patson Daka what he can do upfront.”

He also said the tournament has given him and insight on players like Nathan Sinkala and Kennedy Mweene who have not been playing at their clubs but have come to the fore.

Zambia plays Malawi this afternoon in a game which kicks off at 17:30hrs.

  2. I am more than shocked to learn of Janza ‘gaining insights’ about Nathan Sinkala and Kennedy Mweene now yet he has been with HR as far as 2012 with the players he is only gaining insights now or have i missed something here? Any let those who are watching those fighting for the plate/spoon/fork watch our masters of inconsistency, the Chipolopolo.

  3. Zambia goes down to Malawi 1-0 after an error by Mweene I’m sure he must be feeling horrible ryt now. Having watched all the three games Zambia has played, I can conclude that Honour Janza is not a tactician and can not take Zambia to glory times. His player selection is not up to scratch. Jackson Mwanza, Paul Katema, Jimmy Ndhlovu and Malama Donashano are not national team material. We nid a box to box midfielder to replace Isaac Chansa. For strikers we need Roger Kola, Evans Kangwa, Alex Ng’onga, Bornwell Mwape and perhaps Jacob Mulenga. We are yet to see if he’ll continue being at the helm of Chipolopolo as we start Afcon qualifiers. Player selection is Key. If there’s no money for an expatriate coach, can’t we try Lwandamina?
