Janza exits with honour as Zambia beat Rwanda

Honour Janza will exit the Chipolopolo job with honour after he guided the Zambian national team to a deserved 2 – 0 win over visiting Rwanda.

With his fate already sealed after FAZ yesterday said he did not fit the profile of the coach they were looking for to take the Chipolopolo top job, Janza worked to prove his executive wrong as an inspired substitution saw Allan Mukuka make an assist for his captain Rainford Kalaba and score one himself.

Despite dominating possession in the first half, Zambia lacked the cutting edge in front of goal with only Rainford Kalaba looking dangerous in the attacking third and he almost scored straight from a corner only to be denied by the woodwork.

Recalled Bornwell Mwape remained bullish but his best chance of the first half was a cracking shot from outside the box which was well saved by an acrobatic but steady Rwandese goalie.

Zambia continued to be the better side in the second half, camping in the opposition half for long periods as they took charge of the midfield with some excellent play from Kondwani Mtonga who was only second to the captain on the day.

Janza then changed tactics and introduced Allan Mukuka for a poor Jackson Mwanza and Winstone Kalengo for Given Singuluma who also did little to influence the game.

Mukuka immediately whipped in a cross which found Justine Zulu but the free scoring Zesco midfielder headed over.

Mukuka continued to probe and a teasing cross from the right which was fluffed by Kalengo and Mwape found a free Kalaba at the back post who tapped in for the opener in the 61st minute.

The Green Buffaloes speedy midfielder ensured maximum points for Zambia when he pounced on a loose ball in the box to strike home with a volley with 8 minutes to play.

Janza also gave first caps to U20 international Boyd Mkandawire and Billy Mutale with Mkandawire taking full advantage of the debut to win the fans’ hearts.

Zambia XI:
1.Danny Munyao,18.Kabaso Chongo (Boyd Mkandawire), 6.Donashano Malama, 5.Bronson Chama (Billy Mutale), 4.Christopher Munthali, 14 Kondwani Mtonga, 7.Justin Zulu (Shadreck Malambo), 17 Rainford Kalaba (C), 21.Jackson Mwanza (Allan Mukuka), 15.Given Singuluma (Winstone Kalengo), 10.Bonwell Mwape (Alex Ngonga)

  1. There is nothing honourable about the PATHETIC Honour Janza’s exit as national team coach. He has been one of the worst coaches that we have ever had in 50 years. I hope the CORRUPT DICTATOR Kalusha Bwalya will hire a coach with a proven track record and pedigree. Time for experiments is OVER!!!

  2. Whilst other countries are engaged in serious International matches, all we could afford is to play against a mediocre team in Rwanda!!! There is seriously something wrong with FAZ. They have to go. We have enough of the corrupt Kalusha BWALYA led FAZ executive. Kalusha Bawlya has destroyed football in this country!PATHETIC!

  3. According to local media reporting janza will either be given the director role which he had or be given th coaching job now that th govt is fully involved now which coach wl be ideal to take zambia to th top? In today’s game or let me say may players in zambia lack technical abilities,ng’onga, mwanza, bornwell, kabaso n many others no wonder at tyms we struggle coz these guys cnt read th game…mbesuma is a technically gifted top man we hv ever had we a long tym, kalaba, mukuka mulenga, mbola, sunzu n mtonga, zulu ,sinkala n mweene (just outside that box)are other who r technically gifted,I wl b giving my full analysis tommorow on th players we have and who shud b in or out

  4. I watched the match, first half was pathetic. Its like the only player who is creative to make chances is kalaba. The guy was over used.we could have scored more goals but it was the same old story, poor finishing. No need to get excited over this win coz we have a lot to do.

    • HONOURABLY, I BELIEVE JANZA HAS BEEN TAKEN AS AN XCAPE GOAT TO FAZ..

THE PROBLEM THAT THE CHIPOS OR THE NATIONAL TEAM HAVE IS FROM THE TOP OF THE LADDER..ITS FROM THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF ZAMBIA.–FAZ.

I BELIEVE THERE IS A DICTATORSHIP IN FAZ WHEREBY, PEOPLE DONT LISTEN TO
THE ZAMBIAN MASSES , LIKE READING THE MINDS OF THE ZAMBIAN PPL..

      THERE MUST BE A

      • ———–> THERE MUST BE A CHANGE IN ADMINISTRATIONS OF FAZ..ZAMBIA HAVE SOME GOOD PLAYERS TO ADVOCATES THE COUNTRY IN COMPETITIONS , BUT , THE FACT THAT THERE IS A DICTATORSHIP , NOTHING CAN GO ON SMOOTHLY..ANYWAY, GOOD WORK
DONT TO THE CHIPOS OF BEATING RUANDA..Kekekekekekeke..

  5. So that is why he just stormed out like that after the game without even shaking hands with his opposite number, very unprofessional I should say.And please to the new Coach do not let that pathetic, useless Kabaso near the team I do not know why he always get injured when ever he loses the ball thank God now we have a natural left back in Mkandawire all we need is a creative and fast midfielder and we are back in business and I repeat no Kabaso if you will need to keep your job.

    • Kabaso is a right back and not left back. In yesterdays game, he was mis positioned and thats how come we didnt see him playing the way he usually does.

  6. Where is Paradox? It’s time for ideas & not insults. During the time of need, u are missing.
Zambia shd arrange competitive matches with some of our West African friends to test our will & not Rwamda, Mozambique & Mauritius.

  7. Janza Is Right, faz Executive Acted Prematurely When Announcing The Employing Of A Foreigh Coach Through The Media. My Advice To Janza Is Just Step Down And Leave Those Fools So That They Fail. Its Not Easy To Work With People With Unstable Minds Otherwise Very Soon Exdous Stable Wil Stage A Fight Between Kulu Failure Verse Janza Puppert.

  8. KWAME is as interligent as ever in as much as JANZA isn’t a coach at all I believe Kalu is usung him as a fall guy to cover all the mess of their own
