Jadel Katongo Joins Kayserispor from Manchester City

Jadel Katongo has completed a move to Turkish side Kayserispor, ending his spell with English Premier League champions Manchester City.

The highly rated youngster departs Manchester City in search of regular first-team football, with Kayserispor offering him the opportunity to test himself in the competitive Turkish Süper Lig. The move marks an important step in Katongo’s career as he looks to transition from academy football to the senior stage.

Katongo, who was born in England to a Zambian father, is eligible to represent Zambia at international level. He was recently invited to be part of the Chipolopolo squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, but he declined the call-up, choosing instead to focus on his club future at this stage of his career.

His decision has sparked interest among Zambian football followers, who will be keenly monitoring his development in Turkey. A strong run of performances with Kayserispor could yet see Katongo reconsider international duty in the future.

Kayserispor, on their part, will be hoping Katongo’s technical quality, energy and attacking threat will add depth to their squad as they target a positive campaign in the Turkish top flight.

  1. He is useless. If he can’t honour a national team call up and hold a place in City’s team B then of what use is he to the nation? Infact no articles for such chaps.

There are plenty lads even locally who deserve such publicity. Not someone who will decide to play for us when it hits home that England will NEVER consider him for national duty.
