I’m okay with the Coach’s decision and happy that we qualified – Triple C

Chipolopolo midfielder Clatous Chota Chama says he is happy with the team’s qualification to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Chama, who is nicknamed Triple C has dispelled rumours that he was displeased with Coach Avram Grant’s decision to sit him on the bench during the win over Ivory Coast on Saturday.

Mwamba wa Lusaka was speaking on Facebook live monitored by the ZamFoot Crew.

The Simba SC ace said he was okay with Grant’s decision and happy with the way the players who were selected played.

The former ZESCO United midfielder says he just has to be ready for his chance and he is confident it will come.

“I’m okay with the coach’s decision, we play football for the nation not personal, the guys who played, did well, you would be there hoping the coach does not make substitutions because of how well the game was going,” he said.

“I’m happy with the guys who played , the coach’s decision, the fans who came to support, and I am very happy that we qualified.

What if I came on and made a mistake then we lost the game or drew? What will the people have said?

“You just have to be prepared for your chance and am sure it will come and I will be ready for it,” he added.

A goal from Patson Daka and Klings Kangwa plus Serge Aurier’s own goal gave Chipolopolo an emphatic triumph at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday to seal their place at the continental showpiece.

This will be Zambia’s first  appearance at AFCON since 2015 and 18th overall appearance at the continental showpiece.

Congratulations guys you worked hard together.

  3. Kudos for throwing out the Host Nation. Now their fans will only come to watch other countries play in their stadiums. They should give Hosts automatic qualifications like in the past to boost ticket sales.
