Power Dynamos on Saturday afternoon gave midfielder ‘Galactico’ Fwayo Tembo a debut appearance for the club when he came on as a second half substitute to help his club to a 1 – 0 home win over Red Arrows.
Fwayo whose International Transfer Certificate was only received late on Friday night made the team for the Saturday game.
He seems to have been warmly received at Arthur Davies Stadium as fans cheered him on when he went to warm-up before he replaced Luka Lungu.
The for Basel midfielder did not disappoint as the winning goal of the match scored by Martin Phiri came after Arrows failed to clear his free-kick for Phiri to score.
His lack of game time showed in that he lacked the explosive pace is known but he showed enough dribbling skills and guile to go forward to win the hearts of the technical bench and more importantly the Ndeke faithfuls.
In the game, under-fire coach Tenant Chilumba made changes to his usual starting XI with Allan CHibwe coming in for Joshua Titima in goal.
There was no place for the young duo of Patson Daka and Larry Bwalya as they gave way for Phiri, Emmanuel Chimpinde and Kennedy Mudenda who shined despite this being his first start of the season.
Power could have walked away with an even bigger scoreline but wasted a lot of chances.
However they will be happy to have picked their first win in 2 games which takes them to 6 points for the season.
