Below is the interview…
On the AFCON
“It’s the biggest tournament in Africa. And it really means a lot to us Africans, not just to footballers, but the fans as well.
“So I think it’s the tournament, we express ourselves, especially as players its just a good show for everybody to watch in Africa because so many professional players local players, will go there compete with different teams and its just awesome to have the AFCON and I think it’s it’s extremely powerful force that also unites Africa, I would say, so it’s it’s a big, big tournament.
“And I hope that this tournament will be another great tournament for the teams that are participating.”
If you don’t have TV set, you always go to your neighbor
“Zambia played in so many Africa when I was a kid. So it was really entertaining for me whenever Zambia is playing, even if you don’t have TV set, you always go to your neighbor and just have to watch Zambia play, so they played or they presented us really well.
“And for me, it was one special moment that I looked forward to one day, I wish I can play the Africa Cup because those guys really inspired me a lot. And yeah, just unfortunate that now I’m here.”
Chipolopolo Boys have many positives, we need to be united
“I think we have a group that there are so many positives we can take given that we failed to qualify in our group. Personally, I think we can do something going forward. All we need is just to be united.
“And yeah, just try to compete. You know, it’s something that we need to work toward ourselves and believe in ourselves trust ourselves that we can play at that major tournament. So I think in the future, we’ll definitely make it.”
