Nkana striker Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga has revealed that the Kitwe giants are targeting the league title.
Following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Nkwazi, there’s a general belief in Kitwe’s Wusakile Township that Kalampa can win the 2021/2022 title.
“Our target is to win the league, We want to win the league,” the confident Ng’onga said in a post match interview.
Nkana claimed their record 13th title in 2020 after they won the 2019/20 transition league.
Beston Chambeshi’s side are currently third on the log with 29 points, 4 off leaders Red Arrows.

The 29 year old also revealed that it was Chambeshi’s game plan to be compact and also encouraged them to work hard.
“The desire to push hard came from the coach who told us to do so. We worked hard as a team and were compact in the first half,” said the former Nchanga Rangers and Power Dynamos striker.
Ng’onga was named man of the match.
Meanwhile Chambeshi thanked sponsors Mopani for a week long camp in the capital city.
“We thank our sponsors Mopani for camping the team for a week in Lusaka and the boys played to our instructions, they played as a team and were well organized. I am happy with the victory,” Chambishi said.
In recent games, Chambeshi has been deploying a 3-5-2 formation.
From the 8 wins they have recorded, 4 of those have come in the last 5 games.
