Nkana Football Club survived relegation on the final day following a goalless draw against NAPSA Stars while a twist of events saw Young Green Eagles relegated following a ruling by FAZ to award Nkana three points in the game against the Kafue based outfit.
Nkana who needed at least a draw to survive were also relying on either Lusaka Dynamos or Kabwe Warriors to do them a favor by beating Young Green Eagles or Indeni respectively.
At Woodlands Stadium, It ended in a goalless draw but both sides finished with ten men after Ackim Mumba and Daniel Crentsil Obeng were sent off both for a second bookable offense.
Nkana survived thanks to Kabwe Warriors who beat Indeni 3-2 thanks to a Jimmy Ndhlovu hat-trick. Cephas Handavu and Martin Dzillah scored for the Ndola based outfit but the goals were not enough.
With the FAZ Decision in their favor Nkana finish in 13th place with 45 points.
Indeni on the other hand, survive following the boardroom decision that saw a week 32 match between Nkana and Young Green Eagles overturned by the FAZ player Status Committee, awarding Nkana three points and three goals.
Nkana protested Young Green Eagles’ alleged use of an ineligible player who was serving a Red Card suspension but before the match the FAZ secretariat had waived the suspension and instead fined Young Green Eagles K5,000.00 which the club paid.
Young Green Eagles had their eligible goalkeepers injured while another was on national duty with the Chipolopolo. Young Green Eagles requested a waiver and were granted to field the suspended player who sat on the bench during the fixture.
The Tonka Tusike Boys played out to a goalless draw at Choma Independence Stadium which meant they finish the season with 40 points in 15th place.
Red Arrows and Kabwe Warriors have qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third and fourth following a draw for the Airmen against Zanaco and a win for Warriors against Indeni.
The Airmen played out to a goalless draw with Sensational Zanaco to seal the third spot while Kabwe Warriors finish fourth with a 3-2 win over Indeni, Both teams finish on 51 points with goal difference keeping Arrows above the Magnificent People’s team.
Champions ZESCO United who went into the final day knowing they had already sealed their 9th title thrashed Buildcon 7-2 to end the season on a high on their coronation day at Arthur Davies Stadium.
Kenyan talisman Jesse Jackson Were scored four goals to lead Zega Mambo to an emphatic win. John Chishimba, Tafadzwa Rusike, and Samson Mkandawire pitched in with a goal each to seal an emphatic win.
Green Eagles finished fifth after they edged Lumwana Radiants thanks to 41st minute Amity Shamende free-kick. Elsewhere Nkwazi and Forest Rangers shared spoils in a 1-1 draw.
