Nkana walk away with USD150,000.oo for Kangwa move

Chipolopolo striker Evans Kangwa has earned himself a permanent move to Ligat ha’ Al side Hapoel Ra’anana after impressing the club during his two year loan spell.

Ra’anana have given Kangwa a three year contract and paid Zambia Super Division log leaders about USD150,000.00 which is only 80% of the deal.

Nir Karin the Israel based agent who brokered the deal and also represents Rogers Kola, Emmanuel Mbola and Stopilla Sunzu sees this as a stepping stone for the former Nkana striker.

The 23 year old striker who was fourth on the top scorers chart in Israel with 11 goals said he was hoping for an even better season next year.

“I’m happy in Israel and happy Ra’anana chose to buy me. I’ll do my best next season for club and I’ll try to focus. Anyway now I’m focus on national team,” he said.

The former Zambia U20 striker is currently with Emmnuel Mbola who also had a succesful season at Ra’anana who finished 6th in the league.

Kangwa is currently in Lome, Togo with the national team and is expected to play in the game tomorrow against Togo.

  1. He needs to work extra hard so that he is able to move to a bigger league than where he is currently.Good for him.

  2. Hahahahahaha……… Best striker in Africa just like that for securing a deal.. This is more than a bold statement. Is good to be optimistic but why the unnecessary hype.

  3. Keep working hard, you control your own destine. Humble yourself, know that there is always room for improvement. Don’t settle for less. All will be good.

  4. An intelligent striker. I watched this chap at COSAFA U20 games that were held in my homeland(Botswana). If he will mature to his full capabilities Africa will witness another version of Benni McCarthy.

    • thanx for the compliments, but no, lets be real! McCarthy was still a teen when he was slugging it out with Hossam Hassan at the 1998 AFCON finals!!!!!Lets encourage this boy but not over-hype him

  5. Chicken’s team selection needs to be challenged. Emmanuel mbola > than buchiziya mfune combined together with boyd mukandawire..

  6. Eish the PSL awards neh… the first division Top Goalscorer of the Season will get R50,000 and the premiership Top Goalscorer of the Season (Mbesuma) will get half of that R25,000. How some people reason out these things bewilders me.

  7. Coming from SA this is not a surprise. Some awards are meant for “blue eyed boys” while others are meant for ‘black skinned boys’. On the Continental scene, when the Zambia National Team perished on their way to a FIFA World Cup engagement the CAF gave each family US1,000. When Vivian Foe died whilst playing for his club, was it Country?, the CAF gave his family a US$100,000, and will educate his children by paying all their school fees, till they finish school.

  8. Do you why RSA stopped hosting the Kora awards? They hated to see these guys from North of the Limpopo walk away with all prizes year in year out…I suspect they didn’t like to see King David win this award…

Jonas Sakuwaha scored in TP’s 2-0 win yesterday. Sinkala and Chongo also played.
