Zambia national team head coach Beston Chambeshi has named a 24-man squad for next month’s back-back Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier matches against Equatorial Guinea.
Sensational ZANACO forward Moses Phiri has made a return to the squad while midfielder Boyd Musonda has been dropped together with unattached Rodrick Kabwe.
Isaac Shamujompa and Peter Kalota have both been roped in. English Premier League duo of Leicester City forward Patson Daka and midfielder Enock Mwepu have been named in the team despite Zambia still being on the UK red list for Coronavirus.
Arsenal Tula striker Evans Kangwa who missed the win over Mauritania and the loss to Tunisia due to injury and midfielder Larry Bwalya also make their return to the Chipolopolo Boys set up.
The Chipolopolo Boys will set up an international camp in Cameroon ahead of their away fixture against Equatorial Guinea on 7th October before hosting them three days later at Heroes stadium.

Chambeshi and kamanga knew they are down and out therefore they are now playing to fulfill the remaining fixtures. There team selection lacks seriousness. Tunisia they are dating mauritania at home. Obvious the will win back to back. Chipolopolo need to negotiate to beat a sturborn equatorial guinue. Even if they win they never beat tunisia at there back yard. Poor team selection .

The Zambian defense has shown that it needs strength and no Sunzu. Remember when Chintu Kampamba basically acted as a coach to Sunzu on the pitch, before Hichani became Sunzu’s partner in defense.
Bottom line this team doesn’t even have a holding midfielder on this list. Ello Daka and Mwepu won’t even get to play in Zambia. This is crazy

Ba and the technical bench we appreciate your efforts ,but one thing you always luck is not to listen to advise ,our national team has struggled for sometime now we the fans have lost patience and confidence in the team due to poor selection ,we the fans have been calling to include ,Nathan ,zunzu ,kalaba ,mweene ,these senior players are there to help the youngs and bringing that balance ,suffocating pressure when the game is full of pressure like Tunisia game.

Nsunzu can’t match up now, same as mweene, they have become too slow to clear any danger in the box. Nathan is just a ball watcher in south africa, no serious impact.
But I feel we should have tried Kalaba, and then Bazo Ngonga as super-sub. Bazo has sharpened is scoring skills of late just age maybe lating him down.
Why are you so convinced Sunzu is too slow? There are a lot of slow centrebacks who can marshal a defense and play really well. I am not going to defend Mweene because he was given an opportunity under Micho. Sunzu on the other hand is playing regularly in China and for some reason has been shunned. I can’t recall Sunzu having had a bad game in the CHipolopolo shirt. And yet a guy like Kabaso Chongo has been afforded opportunity after opportunity including after a misplaced bicycle kick led to the other team scoring. And the guy was even given the captains armband…smdh
If you are asked to do a job; you want the best team possible. Edward Chilufya has scored 4 goals so far this season and has been a starter in his clubs last 4 matches. Especially since Daka and Mwepu are probably not going to be available for the game in Zambia.
As long as we have a local Coach leading the National team we will not achieve anything, maybe in 20 years. The fear that a lot of us had as soon as Chambeshi was appointed has come to haunt us.
Edward Chilufya may have had a bad game last time but he is better than the boys who can’t beat a team from Swaziland. Edward,Sunzu, E.Banda and Kings Kangwa should have been called. There is no Coach who is in his right mind who can bencH Cletus Chama and Tandi MWape and have inexperienced players play against Tunisia. That was SUICIDE form Chambeshi.

My Zambia team if I was a coach would include Kenneth Kalunga. This boy is playing in Portugal and he is very skill with ball at feet and his distribution is impeccable.
I just discovered Chainza Zimba playing Cardiff…Zambia should quickly work on defense or at least improve marking whether zonal or man to or just maligned the whole team press and open up with some good hard running off the ball using the center, the wings and varying play.
