The Zambia Women’s National Team will enter camp next month for their final preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Copper Queens will enter a local camp on 3 June in Lusaka ahead of their international camp prior to the tournament.
FAZ President Andrew Kamanga confirmed the development in his weekly update posted on the FAZ Facebook page and monitored by the ZamFoot Crew.
Kamanga also revealed that the COSAFA Champions will camp in Germany as opposed to Spain as earlier reported.
“A local camp that will comprise local and foreign based players will commence on June 3. That will kick start activities that will culminate into an international camp in Germany preceding the tournament which will see Zambia play three high profile international friendly matches before heading to New Zealand.”
While in Germany the Copper Queens are expected to play three international friendly matches.
They will face the 22nd highest ranked team in the World, Ireland on 22nd June before facing Switzerland, ranked 20th in the World eight days later.
The Copper Queens will then face two time World Champions and eight time European Champions, Germany who are currently ranked 2nd in the World.
Zambia are in Group C alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica.The World Cup will kick off on July 20 in Australia/New Zealand.
Zambia will open its World Cup campaign on July 22 against Japan in Hamilton before facing Spain four days later at Eden Park Auckland. The final Group C match will be against Costa Rica on July 31 at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton.

Where is the technical assistamt/trainer we were promised? That persin needs to be engaged bybthe time they enter camp to be effective. You can’r just attach someone when they get to the tournament ans expect results

I was worried to have the girls camp in Spain. a team we are in the same group with.
Let them play as many teams in allemagne as possible. Even clubs and who ever is ready to play them. Those machines will instill telepathy in our girls.
