Bakala and Masauso Tembo in Morocco attending a CAF A licence course

Green Buffaloes head coach Masauso Tembo and Forest Rangers/ Zambia U17 boss Ian Bakala are in Morocco attending a CAF A licence course.

The duo are in North Africa to upgrade their coaching credentials as part of an understanding between the Zambian FA and their Moroccan counterparts.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) yesterday announced that former Chipolopolo boss Wedson Nyirenda and Copper Queens boss Bruce Mwape will later this year also attend a CAF pro licence course in the same country as part of their MOU with the Royal Morocco Football Federation.

FAZ President Andrew Kamanga confirmed the development in his weekly update posted on the FA’s official Facebook Page and monitored by the ZamFoot Crew

“In leveraging our Memorandum of Understanding with our Moroccan counterparts we are sending under-17 coach Ian Bakala to Morocco for a CAF A licence course that commences this week. Coach Bakala will be on that program with Green Buffaloes trainer Masautso Tembo who is already in that country,” Kamanga wrote.

“This is on top of the other two slots for the CAF Pro License where we will send Wedson Nyirenda and Copper Queens gaffer Bruce Mwape. There is no substitute for knowledge in coaching especially with fast changing dynamics propelled by technology. To widen the beneficiary pool, we remain on course to set up the coaching school through our Memorandum of Understanding with the Croatia Football Federation.”

Bakala is fresh from being eliminated at the ongoing Algeria U17 African Cup of Nations which saw Zambia win one game and lose two to finish bottom of group B.
