Lusaka Dynamos captain Cletus Chota Chama left the team hotel on Sunday night without permission ahead of Wednesday’s mouth watering clash against his former side Zesco United , the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.
According to the ZamFoot Crew sources on the Copperbelt where the team has set base, the nimble footed midfielder was not part of the Lusaka Dynamos’ training session at Arthur Davies Stadium annex pitch on Monday morning.
While ‘The Elite’ are viewed as big spenders or money bags, there have been unconfirmed reports that some players have been going for close to 2-3 months without getting paid.
“Chota left without informing the coaches. He just told his friends that he is tired of the way things are been handled at the club,” one of Chama’s close friend told the ZamFoot Crew.
The ZamFoot Crew understands that some players at Lusaka Dynamos have been playing ‘under protest,’ as they haven’t been receiving/had their salaries delayed.

“It’s now an open secret that the club is struggling financially and the most of the players want to leave the club,” added another source
Why go AWOL now?
It is believed that Chama has three offers from South African clubs after an impressive showing at the Cosafa Cup but the club are not willing to sell.
There’s also an offer on the table from Zesco United where he spent two seasons before he went joined Egyptian side Al Atihad in 2016.
MTN Super League rival and fellow big spenders Buildcon have also showed interest in the player and actually Chama was almost on the verge of joining the Ndola side in January.
‘It is true that things are not okay at the club but Chota should be the last person to do what he has done,” a ZamFoot insider said.
“The club spent a lot to sort out his issues in Egypt. We paid Al Atihad around $30, 000 to refund them the signing on fee he got.
“If that was not enough, he went on and got money from unnamed Zambian club and we are still refunding our colleagues,” a vividly upset insider said.
“Yes, let’s say the club owe him for 2 months and a few allowances. What about all these expenses the club has been bailing him out of.
“The club has always taken good care of him and there should be loyalty especially that he is the captain.
Despite boasting the likes of Fwayo Tembo, Collins Sikombe, Joseph Ochaya and Chris Mugalu, the Lusaka based side is having a mixed season.
Over the weekend, the ‘big spenders’ stunned Nkana with a 2-0 win at home thanks to injury time goals from Chama and Mugalu.

We seen good players than him perished as a result of the same behavior.Talk of Emmanuel Zulu,Clifford Mulenga and Fwayo Tembo are good examples. If these where well behaved believe you me they wouldn’t have been where they are now in terms of football.Zambia would have been boast of talent.Look at Kalaba it is a question of discipline as well.Anyway, too bad for the young man.
