Chiyangi happy with performance despite loss

Zambian side Green Eagles suffered their first loss in the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup tournament after losing 1-0 to APR of Rwanda on Monday.

Despite the loss, Green Eagles Head Coach Aggrey Chiyangi was happy with his boys showing in the match and is looking forward to the next game against Ugandan side Proline FC.

“It was a very tough game they pushed us so hard but I think the boys did their best though we conceded a goal, that’s not an excuse we lost,” he said.

“We will plan against Proline having watched them play so far, every game is different but we have insight so will plan for them knowing that it’s the last game we have to play in order to qualify to the next Round,” he added.

Captain of the side Ceasor Hakaloba believes adequate preparation will be key in the game against Proline and wants his team to win by all cost.

“We just have to prepare very well for the game against proline we just have to win at all cost so that we qualify for the quarter-finals,” he said.

“APR had more pressure than us we played according to our game plan which was to counter-attack, they played a passing game it’s unfortunate we did not score.”

The final game for the Choma based side will be on Thursday as they take on Ugandan side Proline at 13:30hrs Central African Time CAT. A win for Eagles will qualify them to the quarterfinals.

  1. It wasnt such a bad result Ba Lukanga. APR likulu ! Green eagles are only two years on the continent. They are not yet at such levels. Let them savour the experience. It will come in handy in continental football.
