CHIPOLOPOLO will don the Kappa brand as they face Nigeria in next month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier.
Sources within FAZ have indicated that the association would settle for Kappa as the national team’s kit sponsor.
Chipolopolo have had no kit sponsor since a deal with Nike ended in 2014.
But FAZ general secretary Ponga Liwewe said the association was working hard to ensure that Chipolopolo was in a new kit as they take on the Super Eagles on October 9.
“We are working to make sure Chipolopolo can be dressed in the new kit as they play Nigeria,” said Liwewe who refused to name the kit sponsors.
FAZ have opted to settle for Kappa despite the kit sponsor not bringing in any cash on the table.
It is believed that FAZ would raise money through replica sales.
Earlier, little known Mafro had offered to dress Chipolopolo in a deal worth about US$200,000 for the next two to three years.
Other national teams that Kappa dresses include Burkina Faso, Fiji, Oman and Reunion.
The kit supplier also dresses South African clubs Bloemfontein Celtic, SuperSport United, Amazulu and Bidvest Wits, as well as US Monastirs of Tunisia.

It is good to turn the corner from the old nike kit. If the deal is not great then it can be a stepping stone.

Coming to Kappa Kit ,its not the best of jerseys I have seen. we will keep on dwindling in everything with useless ponga and kamanga .in fact ponga only know south africa and thats where that kind kit is common .
Lets try Kappa, maybe they might design a better jersey and come up with a better copper looking colour not fi orange that Nike forced on us. @Egwugwu,if your lopola friends had not engaged mutuma deal twabupuba by going China to get fake replicas, all would have been well. Egwugwu, Pungwa has a great point. The FAZ executive of old failed all of us with the Nike deal when they started selling replica jerseys and didn’t even bother to try and find another kit sponsor for 2 years.
I appreciate the things Kalu’s admin did, but we should not turn blind eyes to their failures in the name of supporting people. The same should be said about Kamanga and his crew when they are given the opportunity to actually lead.
