Zambia national team, Chipolopolo coach Sven Vandenbroeck has summoned a youthful 24 man squad comprising of only local players for camp.
The Belgian has roped in a the Zambia U17 national team skipper Alex Mwiinga and three from the U20 squad comprising of Kafue Celtic striker Francisco Mwepu, Nchanga Rangers defender Benson Kolala and Zesco United tricky winger Lameck Banda.
In an interview with FAZfootball.com, Sven said that he had drafted the youngsters from junior national teams as part of a long term developmental plan for the copper bullets.
“I have included players from the U17 and U20 as part of a long term development plan. Some of the players we wanted for this camp are engaged with the Barclays Cup so we have given their slots to the deserving young players,” he said.

Eight clubs are in action this weekend in the Barclays Cup quarterfinals in Kitwe where top guns Zesco, Zanaco, Power Dynamos, Nkana, Green Buffaloes, Green Eagles, Mufulira Wanderers and Young Buffaloes square off.
To these effect Sven has left out a number of regulars from the local scene including Zesco United star striker Lazarus Kambole.

Where is tapson kaseba the league’s top scorer at the moment?
I think Tapson Kaseba has been left out due to his club’s involvement in the Barclays cup quarter finals.
Too many SHORT players, who are difficult to sell abroad. But uyu Simbayambaya ready to go play even in USA where they prefer looks and intelligence.
Tapson kaseba’s omission its really shocking considering that the coach made it known to public that he is picking players on merrit. The is so biase. He dose not want to call up young stars from team especially locally based players. After the boys put up good performance at the world we expected them to take over. The coach is repeating the same mistake which was commiteed by other coaches of picking old tired legs. Eg lawrence chungu at the expense of prosper chiluya. The coach should look at age of some of the player he is picking. Most of them are in their late twenties. A good coach considers age as an important factor. Unless the player needed exprince eg sunzu. On another issue the team is playing without a captain since the departure of katongo. Mweene is a bench warmer at his club.and he is not the voice of the voiceless.. Emmanuel mbola was send packing and as a captain he should have apologise on behalf of the player. Seven is very stupidy he failed to execute his role as father. He should have warned the player. His decision was barbaric, emotional and retrogressive. If want his presence to be felt he should win games not to fight players. Faz should take full responsibility of discipling players not this barbaric manner of firing players. Seven should forgive and summon mbola. We are tired of this nonsense of firing players. If you continue doing this the boys will sabotage you.
Out of point this your long grammar won’t help us. I think you should apply for the job
Topson Kaseba, is with Green Eagles, and eagles are playing the Barclays Cup, the coach has said he has not pick players involved in the cup games.
Secondly it is not always what we see in a players as soccer fans that the coach may be looking for, a good a example was Herve Renard, when he did not pick on Sate Sate, even when the boy was banging in goals left, right and center and at one point he even topped the score board.
Today Renard has been vindicated, Sate Sate is not a national team material. PLS GIVE THE COACH THE CHANCE TO WORK FREELY. He is also human he can make mistakes, but lets support him for now.
The coach says he’s left some players involved in the Barclay’s cup at Arthur Davies this weekend n Kaseba is part to the players involved. his team G eagles are playing.
I mean the boys who played at world cup under twenty tourney
Kaseba just like other good players has been left out because his team is involved in the Barclays cup this weekend……icushi umulilo washala
lET THE COACH PICK PLAYERS THAT HE THINKS CAN COMPETE.
