Chambeshi happy with chances created despite low conversion rate

Zambia U23 National team coach Beston Chambeshi is happy that his team is creating chances despite them missing a number of them.

The junior copper Bullets only managed to score two goals in the two games against Malawi but created a lot of chances in both their home and away games.

“We have missed a lot of chances both at home and away but the good thing is that we are attacking and creating chances,” he said.

The Nkana coach revealed that he would maintain the same team unless circumstances like injuries were to come in.

“Its up to the players but I will maintain the same team because the players I have are working hard . If injuries come in we will make additions,” he said.

His Malawian counter part Meke Mwase explained the reason behind starting arguably their best player Peter Banda on the bench. The young forward had a knock hence the technical bench thought it was wise to leave him on the bench at the start of the match.

” It was not our game plan. Peter Banda had a knock so we decided to leave him on the bench but when he came on he proved that he is a quality player, ” he said.

Zambia beat Malawi by a lone goal on Sunday courtesy of Fashion Sakala to progress to the final round of qualifiers for the Egypt U23 AFCON tournament.

The junior copper Bullets will face either Burundi or Congo Brazzaville in the final round of qualifiers. The top three teams at the Egypt U23 AFCON tournament will book places at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

    • “Mwiya Malumo should be called as well and Frankie Chisenga Musonda too”. Why do you want the 2 to be included? Give us a reason? Like to replace so and so etc.

Can we leave player selection to the coach for gods sake
