The Zambia women’s National team striker Rachel Nachula is confident that the team is ready to face Zimbabwe in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifiers on a two-legged tie with the first leg being played in Lusaka on Wednesday, August 28th.
The 2019 COSAFA Women’s Cup top goalscorer with 10 goals believes the preparations for the ‘Zambezi derby’ are going on well.
“The preparations so far are going well as you have heard from the coach. We are preparing very well and we are very ready for the game,” she told the ZamFoot Crew.
The former Athlete who won gold at the 2008 commonwealth youth games and now plays for Green Buffaloes women’s football team is confident the experience gained at COSAFA Women’s Cup will help the team in the two-legged ties.
“We are going to use the same experience that we got from South Africa, it’s going to help especially the game we played against South Africa we didn’t play that good but during the game that we will play next week Wednesday it will be a good game I can assure the nation we are going to work hard and definitely carry the day on Wednesday,” she said.
Nachula believes that the team has done enough and that they are ready for the game against Zimbabwe.
“We are not worried we know that Zimbabwe its a strong side but according to the preparation that we are preparing now and then the training that we are taking right now it’s different from the preparation that we had last time when we took on Zimbabwe, I think now the girls are preparing very well and ready for the game,” the Copper Queens goal poacher said.
Nachula is happy with the inclusion of European based stars Rachel Kundananji and Misozi Zulu who are plying their trade in Kazakhstan and sees it as a motivation to the team.
“Right now am told Misozi Zulu and Rachel, they are on their way coming and then they have played the Cosafa before and then they know how it is to take on Zimbabwe am sure even the girls( copper Queens) are very happy to hear that they are on their way coming it is going to motivate them,” she told the Zamfoot crew.
The Copper Queens are in camp in readiness for their first leg 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifying tie against Zimbabwe next Wednesday at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
