Lusaka based Super League giants Sensational Zanaco have announced the signing of 18 year old defender Golden Mafwenta.
The youngster is the lastest addition to the long list of new players that have joined the Bankers ahead of the new Super league season that kicks off on the 31st of August.
“Sensational Zanaco Football Club has completed the transfer of young promising Chilenje Happy Hearts Centre-Back, Golden Mafwenta. The 18-year-old defender finalised his permanent move to Sunset from Happy Hearts upon completion of medical examinations.”

Mafwenta was part of the Zanaco team that travelled for pre-season camping in Chipata and Copperbelt where he had an impressive run. The last stroll was the performance in a friendly match against Buildcon after being named in the starting line-up in absence of regular and experienced defenders which confirmed his move to Zanaco.
In an interview with Zanaco Media team, Head coach Numba Mumamba said he is happy with the acquisition as the boy has proved himself and is dubbed as one for the future.
“We are very excited to have signed Golden from Chilenje Happy Hearts Academy, he proved himself well to the entire technical bench during the two pre-season training camps,” Numba said.
“The boy is a developmental player with a bright future, his addition to our squad will add value to the core of our backline and he will be a real asset to us.” He added
Zanaco will start their 2019/2020 Super League campaign with tricky encounter against Zesco United as they look to challenge for the league title.
