PRESS RELEASE

Buildcon fans attacked

BUILDCON Football Club is deeply disappointed by the unruly behaviour driven by Nkana FC fans after the game against their team on Wednesday April 11th, 2018 at Nkana Stadium which led to four Buildcon FC supporters being hospitalised to Ndola Central Hospital after sustaining multiple injuries.

We condemn the compulsive behaviour of Nkana fans who descended on the hapless Buildcon FC supporters after the match and stoned their bus, shattering window panes.

The indiscriminate hurling of all sorts of objects on the Buildcon supporters, coupled by physical attacks cannot go unchecked and we call for responsible authorities to investigate the incidence in order to prevent such acts at future games.

We wish our supporters who were assaulted a quick recovery.

  1. Nkana Football Club i.e. the team and its management need to take a more active role in controlling and educating their supporters.

Why is it always Nkana? Lyonse fye Nkana supporters. FAZ cannot solve this for the club. I know some previous Nkana supporters on this blog took active roles in trying to educate their fellow fans, but this continuation of bad behaviour may need an even heavier handed approach from all stakeholders.

  2. Positive thinking, “I would like to commend you, for your hatred towards hooliganism. Am a die hard Nkana fan and I feel the same.I don’t support hooliganism. .However I would like to caution you for commenting on a matter which has incomplete information. Why do I say so?

Upto this time we do not know where that violent behaviour took place, If it was at the stadium, then Builcon,is lying, because there was no violence there. Why the statement has come from Builcon instead of police department? .Buildcon need to answer these questions

(1)where did the incident took place,?Because at the stadium there was no violence. It was even raining. There were police officers near the stadium why haven’t they reported?

(2)Why taking the victims to Ndola hospitals,.?,why not taking them to kit we teaching hospital, wusakili mine hospital ?.?.All this does not make sense .

(3)Are they telling people us they were stone all the to NDOLA?.

Remember chisamba, lungu was in a night club around 23hrs, a fight over a women with someone ,then he says it’s Nkana..

Personally am tired of this,Will encourage our Club, together with the police, to do a thorough investigations. If it happens that Buildcon is lying, then FAZ should discipline them. And Nkana should take this matter to court,to clear it’s name. And the incident took place at the stadium without our knowledge, then as Nkana we need face the law.

But if these fights took place in a bar or nite club ,,then it’s not hooliganism. Because even MANU fans fight with Liverpool fans.and that’s is not the fault of the club’s.

    .

    • Km, I absolutely agree that an investigation should take place. I also concur that if in fact Builcon made up this incident, then they should be dealt with.

I may have jumped the gun on this and apologize for that.

  3. Just a friendly advice, to all those travelling to watch football, in kit we, Ndola and all towns in ZAMBIA, Avoid provoking fans who have lost,Because however disciplined they can be,they will definitely react. In Kitwe, fans worship their teams,Avoid provoking them.

It is even stipulated in FIFA and FAZ constitution. You don’t provoke, your opponents, because that is a Recep for violence. We all want peace,.Lets not disturb peace by provoking our opponents.

Even referees must be very careful with the way they handle the matches.Wherever football will be played, not just in Kitwe, even in other towns, they watch out the way they officiate.

The Game, power vrs Nkana, a referee made four serious mistakes.3 Were wrongly offside, supper sport were through that, and there was no offside. The other error,is that, the striker for power scored a winning goal using the hand,And Nkana fans did not protest, because they new it was just human error on the part of referee.,He just a Human like all of us, prone to make mistakes.

But referees should not be careless ,they should serious with their job.If they can easily provoke fans.

Like what is happening, it’s very easy to provoke Nkana fans.At first, it was chisamba, lungu now it’s hooliganism.

It does not make sense, If Nkana were upset, they could Ave attacked power and zesco.Good reason, because, they lost.Attacking a team you Ave drawn,!!,does not make sense.at all.

Please let’s avoid provoking fans whether nkana or any other team.

  4. @Positive thinking & @km I must commend you for the way you have articulated issues. This is how it should be. No name calling, no insults, on top of that you have even provided solutions to the same problem. You dont lose a single hair if you apologize, @Positve thinking that is pure class I take my hat off for you how I wish the atmosphere around here was always like this where you expressing divergent views without offending one another. God bless you all
