The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has disbanded the U17 team constituted by Oswald Mutapa and named 30 new players to be drilled by Bruce Mwape.
FAZ technical director Honor Janza announced that the players will  undergo MRI scans to certify their eligibility  the age limited competition.
Janza also announced that Nchanga Rangers coach Bruce Mwape will coach the team when they play Sudan on Sunday and he will be assisted by Zanaco coach Numba Mumamba.
Janza has was yesterday in charge of the U17 team but will now hand the button to Mwape and Mumamba.Sunday’s

No permanent coach for the national teams zoona
But why disband the whole team? Is everyone over age or is it that they were not good enough.
chris kaunda had a team wat happened, faz shud learn to consult b4 firing pipo
These chaps what kind of decisions are these! just how do you fire the whole team? or maybe what are the findings?
When such a disaster happens, you clean house and start all over again. FAZ are right in taking this decisive and firm action. I however still believe firing Chris Kaunda ( UEFA B Qualification ) was a mistake. I wrote to Ponga to question the rationality of this decision but got no answer ( not that I expected one anyway but I wanted him to know . I suspect Chris was collateral damage in the quest to get rid of Joe Bwalya.
I salute you for the move FAZ.This is one coach who I think Zambia has been overlooking yet he has something special.
Firing Chris Kaunda is a big mistake , he literally started from the scratch to select players from provinces . And now you disband the whole team just because of two over-aged players? I thought the rest of the players who played in that tournament are now ripe for a tougher assignment like a qualifier with Sudan . Those games they played in Mauritius should be taken in the positive – as friendly or preparatory games . And let FAZ upgrade those Boys Mulilo and Benjamin Phiri to Under 20 . The Coaches are the Officials are the ones who should answer to chargers .
They were six players not two.
Zamfoot articles have been indicating 2 players, which is which kanshi?

why get rid of the whole team? However,Bruce is a good choice.
It is Dununa reverse in full gear. Why fire the whole team? Just redo the MRI scans on the team, who ever fails is automatically dropped.Life goes on.
@ Onzuna. Disbanding the whole team was the best thing possible to do. And the action does not imply that all the players in the disbanded team have not been / will no be summoned to the newly assembled squad.
Well the action really suggest likewise, according to the report only 2 players failed the MRI scan test. Why disband the whole team and have 30 newly constituted players?
This is absurd, disbanding the whole team isn’t a progressive way of sorting this problem we are talking of under 17 not under 47. There is also another way of approaching this issue, if the boys are older than 17 and were good going by the results, introduce them to Under 20, 23 or senior team and all.
Furthermore, FAZ ought to be issuing comprehensive statement so that we know how they arrived at certain decision. Right now it’s not yet clear who was responsible for that humiliation whether the MRI was faulty, or Technical bench.
You said it well Watch Over. I am not just certain if FAZ officials are getting these valuable contributions people are offering. if not, please can someone alert them to take time and read some of these inputs football fans are offering? We love the game and we really need to move several levels higher.
I also dnt understand the logic behind tht move. Does it mean every1 lied about thr age including the technical bench?
I honestly think we are complaining about nothing here. Disbanding the whole team is a good idea to get things right from scratch. It also does not mean all the players who were in the last team will not make the grade again. It will also show the powers that be, FIFA and CAF, that our FA is taking this issue of age cheating seriously and not trying to circumvent it by kicking out the five or six players who failed the test only. If we had players in the team that failed the test there is a possibility that this was a culture in the team as such disband the whole team to kill the culture and kick start the process. In as much as it is impossible to please everybody we cant really be stuck in the narrative that every single thing that our FA does is not good, c’mon now!!
Precisely Big Steve ! nokupasa ba Coach and the rest of the technical bench – we have to show we are serious. yilifye bane.
The issue of Age cheating is common and FAZ knew all this nonsense. Kamanga and his so called committee members have failed. We made a mistake to change a winning team and we should not experiement with the coming elections. Lets not beat about the bush, bakamnaga nabafilwa and the proofs that nabafilwa are:
1 Failure to qualify for AFCON
2 Beaten by Swaziland at COSAFA
3 Beaten by Namibia at COSAFA Plate final
4 U17 disqualification
Bakamanga bena kuwayawafye
Ba Soccer fan naimwe give us a break twapapata….. How many times did Kalu and team fail before winning AFCON. In life failure is part of learning process. Give them time pliz
seems to me that it a little too early to judge the new executive
that was ushered in mid way in the AFCON qualifiers in my view (lets share on this platform).
We could start when say we have played at least three of the 2018 WC qualifiers that begin come October 2016 ,how about that?
The earlier a new coach is engaged the better the early preps can begin
(two months is not a long time to have serious friendlies etc). Hoping that whoever is picked won’t have to quit month down the line due to non -payment of his salary/ies or worse a week before the game against Nigeria(once upon a time super eagles.
On a non-football story, with just a day of the grand opening ceremony to the Rio 2016 Olympics, ZAMBIA has just released the names of her 7 representatives to the Rio 2016 Olympics. The seven-member team comprises three athletes, two swimmers, a Judoka and boxer. In the history of the Olympic Games, Zambia has participated in 12 summer Olympics winning 2 medals. To the Rio 2016 Olympics, Zambia is once again sending twice the number of officials (13) as compared to athletes (7).
This is really a source of concern, what is wrong with our nation. Don’t we have people who can ran? Is it administration problem, lack of facilities or we don’t just care about Olympics other sport disciplines?
I really don’t want to make it sound political but I guess I have no choice, it is really pathetic the way our government of the day just seems to pay completely no attention to sport. 7 athletes only, really!!! and some minister will even be proud to go and see them off, a team of 7 is pathetic to say the least. Yes people will come out with the same old bottom of the barrel excuse of “no money”. That narrative has become part of our daily language these days. It has become a simple excuse to hide behind.
Big Steve 4rm SA you are quiet right and this attitude is unacceptable.
Ba FAZ were are the 30 players names? we want to see if its not the same players for Mutapa and you just beating around the bushes.
And to be honest the U17 team was just supposed to be given back to Chris Kaunda,
you can not bring someone new at this stage because we don’t have enough time.
If we don’t qualify you will let this coach go yet it is not his fault, FAZ please think like the mother body of Zambian Football and don’t just be heaters.
Good
Kiki Kiki Kiki hahaha have you have really craked me ati don’t we have people who can ran surely so psthetic
