U17 Arrive back home and continue preps under Janza
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has roped in FAZ Technical Director, Honour Janza to drill the U17 national team.
The team returned home from the disgraceful outing in Mauritius where they were expelled from the Cosafa Championship after the team fielded two over-aged players.
Despite the entire technical bench being asked to take leave by FAZ, the squad has not broken camp and has continued to train in Lusaka.
Former national team coach Honour Janza will now lead the team into this weekends Africa Championship qualifier against Sudan.
The ZamFoot Crew found Janza drilling the lads at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) with indications that a few more players will be looked at to replace the ineligible players.
The team will under-go fresh MRI scans in Lusaka after CAF ruled that the initial scans done on the players were not done correctly.
Janza was again used as a stop-gap measure when Herve Renard and his assistant left the Zambia national team and he managed to qualify the Chipolopolo to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations finals were Zambia was ejected in the first round.
Oswald Mutapa and his brother Perry were incharge of the disgraced U17 team until their suspension by FAZ on Friday.

Think hes the right choice also to drill these boys, But they must call some more players in camp.
I still don’t trust the boys in camp because Mutapa and co wanted to impress the nation with big scorelines by picking his own players who are overage and ones they were taking Cash from.
Janza must call more players in so that he came up with a good and fair selected team not only ones who paid money to Mutapa.
Don’t tell me that we don’t have Academies in Zambia because that is were we supposed to be getting players at this level.
Eish the freedom of speech sometimes is over stretched. Do you know or have proof or have reliable sources of information to back the allegation you are making in your comment?
Janza is a good coach, probably better than G.Lwandamina.Hope the TRUE U17 team will be even more motivated to go all the way to the U17 Africa finals so as to prove a point.
George must also be appointed the U 23 national team coach.
I do not think this is a better decision to release the Mutapa brothers for the faulty of the MRI scan, tell me is it them that were doing it.
Think twice before anything.
I agree with you, seems the decision was hasty.
At first they fired the technical bench which they found they replaced it with the mutapas again they have fired the mutapas accussing them of age cheating and replace them with honour janza wow!wow! Where is the big mouth the so called veteran soccer administrate smataa smataa let him say something
Now they have called Bruce Mwape !Reality comedy show!
Another failure
Let me remind you my friends that during Simata’s reign as U17 coach, there was zero tolerance to over aged players. This is the reason why we are seeing that most the players that Simata drilled at U17 are still active(Kalaba, mayuka,Rogers Kola, etc). The other coach who did the same was Wedson Nyirenda who stated clearly that he had no room for madalas in his team at the time. And this is the way to go since these players are the future of Zambian football.
Age cheating will never end & i believe every team that partispated at the jst ended cosafa u17 they also playd overaged players, kenya apiled to caf becoz of the big loss to young chipo’s and i dnt thnk there was a player below the age of 17.good luck janza.
Well lets not take that line of thought, Kenya after a big loss proved that we had over age players. If we had a case or suspicions against any team why didn’t prove it. This just calls to remind us to put our own house in order.
Its now Bruce Mwape as coach.Comedy at its best!Chris kaunda had over some months managed to go around the country and assembled a pool of under 17 players but these comedians destroyed the project in place of over aged players.
Recycling failure! We are finished!
