Brian Mwila headed back to the ZSL

Zambia national team striker Brian Mwila is headed back to Zambia barely five months after joining Dikwena.

Social media is buzzing with reports of Mwila going AWOL in South Africa. Platinum Stars Coach Roger de sa that the 24 year old striker just disappeared from South Africa and the Club just heard rumours that he is pushing for a move to Europe .

“He just disappeared and we have never seen him again,” de Sa said.

“He went home for Christmas in Zambia. As far we heard he is looking for a club in Europe,” he added.

A source close to the player has however revealed that the player is likely to join a top Zambian club. According to the source, Mwila wants away from Dikwena due to financial issues at the Club.

” The player is in Zambia may join Zesco or Zanaco. The main issue is money. There hard been a lot of delay in the player getting his salary a situation he is not happy with, ” The source said.

The ZamFoot Crew also understands that big spenders duo Lusaka Dynamos and Buildcon are also interested in the prolific striker.

“A lot of clubs would definately be interested in his services but him being a soldier could be a stumbling block. He can only join these other clubs with permission from Arakan Barracks.

“So if he is coming back to Zambia, then Green Buffaloes will be his first choice,” a ZamFoot Crew source said.

“But for now he needs to sort out his issues with Platinum Stars.

Mwila who was nursing an injury has only made six appearances for Platinum and is yet to score a goal. The Chipolopolo talisman has about 2 years six months left on his contract with Dikwena.

Platinum stars is believed to have paid around $40, 000 transfer fee to Green Buffaloes for his services.

  1. We need good managers and expertise to manage these Zambian players. Most of our players are not well informed and luck maturity. They are easily taken away to sign contracts because they want to make a name. Patience pays but for Mwila , he did not have patience at all. Bwana Mwila Munaitaya! You would have waited for CHAN then you would have gone to Europe than South Africa.
Let FAZ include Psycho-social counselors or Psychologist to be managing these players. If we can have a Doctor, Team Manager, Physical Trainer, Goal keeper trainer, then why can’t we have Psycho-social counselors or Psychologist on the technical bench.
Where is Mukuka Mulenga? These is where Zambian players can draw their lesson.
    Umwana ashumfya amenene umwefu kwikoshi!

  2. WEll said ba General. Our players get rushed into signing contracts with clubs just because the so called agents want to make quick from the players ignorance of certain clauses. Players suffer while the agents smile all the way to the banks.

  3. I honestly don’t belive this nuisance of Platinum Stars not haveing money to pay Brian. Platinum Stars are sponsored by the lucrative Platinum mines. I haven’t heard them having money issues.

I think he is frustrated at the club. The injuries and all haven’t helped him at all. The just want to get rid of him because he has;nt yet produced at the club. The club doesn’t know what he can do. I wish they would give him more time. The are under pressure as the started the season badly and are bottom of the table. Played 18 games and won 3 only and drawn 6. Lost 9 games.

  4. These young boys have very bad advisers and managers whose only interest is to make money out of players. The boy needed to be advised as regards the financial standing of the team he was signing for and the capability for them to pay him a salary. Definitely this boy needed to be patient and maybe even play at CHAN. Mwila has no option but stay at platinum and see out his contract.
