The Chipolopolo Boys will today know the teams they will face for a place at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 2012 AFCON champions who have missed the last three consecutive tournaments are among the 48 countries who will know their path for next years showpiece.
FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga says the draw will give the Association direction for the kind of preparations needed before June.
“Tuesday is an important day on our football calendar as the draw for the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will be conducted in Johannsburg. We will keep our ears to the ground as we know that the draw will give us direction on the type of preparations, we should have ahead of qualifiers that commence in June,” Kamanga said in his weekly update.
The draws will be held in the studios of SuperSport in Johannesburg, South Africa at 17h30 GMT (19h30 South African time).
The teams will be drawn into 12 groups of four teams Group A to L with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the tournament to take place next year in Cote d’Ivoire.
The host Nation Cote d’Ivoire will also take part in the qualifiers despite them already having qualified to the tournament as a host Nation and only one other team from their group will qualify for the competition.
The draw will be conducted by the CAF Director of Competitions Samson Adamu who will be assisted by African football legends Lucas Radebe of South Africa and Ivorian Solomon Kalou.
The qualifiers will start in June 2022 and Chipolopolo boys who last appeared in the tournament in 2015 would want to redeem themselves for the 2023 edition.

[…] Zambian Football […]
Good evening Zambia. There you are. The draw has been conducted and you know your opponents. Anything is possible -failing to qualify or qualifying. What matters most is to plan, execute the plan and manage it. The task involves managing your opponents in both encounters with each.
Most scary with group H is that there is only one slot to be grabbed by one of the three sides other than the host and the host will play a crucial role in how the group shapes up. There is rivalry between Zambia and the host nation which is not the case with the host and the other two group members. As if that is not enough Zambia are most likely to be the team to beat from the perspective of the other two group members who they have dominated at COSAFA level.
Conclusively, Zambia must expect fireworks from all group members. Relaxing on her part, which might include failure to present a near full strength team or full strength team at any point in time could easily dent her chances considering the fact that the fellow COSAFA duo can and would easily present their full strength teams against Zambia due to the fact that they rely more on players who ply their trade at home and/ or in the Africa and most key is that if they eliminate the Chipolopolo seeing light at the end of the tunnel would be most probable.
