Out of the euphoria created by Kalusha Bwalya’s goal against Mauritius, the scribe in me spotted one unusual feature in the stands – his daughters.
They were in the stands to cheer Zambia’s celebrated footballer as they visited fatherland while on holiday.
And he delivered a goal years after he had called off his playing career and was then technical director & Vice President of FAZ.
Soon after the match, I had the privilege to interview Kalusha’s daughters.
They rarely gave interviews and still rarely do.
This was a unique and rare moment for me as a journalist. Not sure I have seen their interview elsewhere thereafter.
When I woke up a few hours ago, someone with a copy of The Post edition that published the interview with Olivia shared an image containing the article.
What a good way to start the day – jolting my memory with some of the works of yesteryear.
It put a smile on me. Thank you Pat Kay (as the WhatsApp number of the person who shared identifies themselves).
