Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda has included four U20 national team players in the 27 man provisional squad that will go in camp ahead of the Cosafa Cup tournament to be played in South Africa.

Solomon Sakala who is captain of the U20 team together with his central defense partner Moses Nyondo have made the team and they are joined by attacking midfielder Emmanuel Banda and striker Conlyde Luchanga.

Both Sakala and Luchanga have been capped at senior level before but it will be the first time that Nyondo and Banda will make appearances for the senior team should they get a ran under Nyirenda.

The young lads with massive tournament experience having won the Cosafa U20 Championship, Africa Cup of Nations tournament and also participated in the Korea Invitation tournament before reaching the quarter finals of the 2017 U20 World Cup.

  1. Dont expose the young lads ku ‘makula’. You will ended up thinking makula nabo. The under 20 chemistry wont be there because a bulk of their colleagues will be missing.

  2. Ah….is this a U-turn on how he commented about the U20 team with reference to its defense? How can the weakest link be first to be promoted? Anyway, maybe he has swallowed the humble pie.
I thought Mwepu was going to bring a dimension that lacks in the senior team. He is one midfielder who always wants to stamp authority over the opponents counterpart and has that precise pass in both legs.

  3. Yes on Emmanuel Banda, but head scratch on calling the defensive pairing that was not that stellar at U20.
