MTN Super League Champions-elect, Red Arrows will be looking to book their place in the final of the 2024 ABSA Cup as they aim to complete a league and cup double.
With their third MTN Super League title all but confirmed, Red Arrows will now shift their focus to the only Cup competition in the country.
In the quarter finals, Arrows and Nchanga Rangers beat Green Eagles and Zesco United respectively to set up this thrilling encounter.
The Airmen came close to a double two years ago but after winning the league they lost the ABSA Cup final to NAPSA Stars thanks to a Chaniza Zulu lone strike.
Should Chisi Mbewe’s men manage to win this year’s competition, It will be the second ABSA Cup triumph for Arrows having won it back in 2013.
Vice captain, Saddam Yussuf Phiri has been in fine form for Chelston based outfit and he is expected to be a key figure on Saturday.
Ricky Banda has also regained his form and he is likely to lead the charge as they look to book their place in the final for the third time since the competition’s inception.
Nchanga Rangers on the other hand are not pushovers as they have enjoyed some fine form in the FAZ National Division One.
In the quarter finals they saw off record six time Champions, ZESCO United on post match penalties hence Red Arrows should be ready for a tough afternoon.
The winner of this yearās Absa Cup will pocket K800,000 with K350,0000 reserved for second place.
The Absa Life Player of the Tournament, Top Scorer and Golden Glove will each get K25,000.
