Zambia U20 pound Las Palmas in final warm up match

The Zambia U-20 national team wound up their training camp in Spain with a 4-0 win over Las Palmas B side in a practice match.

Goals from Musonda Siame and Conlyde Luchanga in the 12th and 28th minute capped an impressive first half.
Fashion Sakala made it 3-0 in the 57th minute while second half substitute Patson Daka closed the business in the 64th minute.

Coach Beston Chambeshi fielded James Phiri in goal while the backline had a familiar line with Proper Chiluya and Shemmy Mayembe deployed as wingbacks while Solomon Sakala and Moses Nyondo partnered in central defence.

Boyd Musonda took command of the holding role while the midfield creative power had Emamnuel Banda, Musonda Siame and Enock Mwepu.

Upfront Luchanga was partnered with Sakala as the team played its third match on the Spain tour that is a prelude to the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017.
In the second half Chambeshi threw in Daka for Banda while Edward Chilufya was withdrawn for Siame.

Luchanga was brought off for Harrison Chisala while Sakala was withdrawn for Kenneth Kalunga.

Later substitutions had Ngosa Sunzu coming in for Musonda while Mwepu came off for Edward Tembo.
The team warmed up with a 3-0 win over Tenerife on May 10 before drawing 2-all with Deportivo Marino.

Zambia flies out of Spain tomorrow and is expected in South Korea in May 17.

The team plays its first match on May 21 against Portugal at the Jeju World Cup stadium.

In Group C the African champions will face Portugal, Costa Rica and Iran with the matches to be broadcast live by pay television channel SuperSport.

  1. Its good that Luchanga has rediscoverd himself, of late he was a shadow of himself. Chipolopolo do us proud in S.Korea, this is one of the best junior team assemble in the recent past. Good lucky lads bola na Lesa!
