Zesco United win seventh game in a row to go top

Zesco United have climbed to the summit of the log following their 2-1 away in Solwezi while Red Arrows dropped to second place following a one all draw with Lusaka dynamos at Nkoloma Stadium.

The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week eight of action on Sunday afternoon with five matches taking centre stage around the country.

Log leaders Red Arrows took on Lusaka dynamos at Nkoloma Stadium aiming to stay top of the log. James Chamanga put the Airrmen in front five minutes to time and Arrows looked like they were heading to Victory but Substitute Baba Basile netted in additional time to level matters and make sure they shared the spoils.

BILTON MUSONDA SURVIVES

In the early kick off of the day, Stephen Kabamba and Friday Samu scored a goal each to guide Zambia Army sponsored out-fit Green Buffaloes to a 2-0 win over Police sponsored High Flying Nkwazi.

Heading into the game Bilton Musonda was handed a one match ultimatum to beat Nkwazi or die walk according to ZamFoot Crew sources inside the Buffaloes camp. The win means Musonda keeps his job as the gaffer at Buffaloes.

INVINCIBLE ZESCO UNITED TAKE CHARGE

Zesco United continued their fantastic run as they handed newcomers Kansanshi Dynamos their first defeat at home beating them 2-1. Thabani Kamusoko and Anthony Akumu scored the goals for team ya Ziko.

The win means Zesco United have won all their first seven opening games in the league so far , A record and they don’t look like they will be slowing down any time soon.

LUMWANA ESCAPE RELEGATION WATERS FOR NOW

Lumwana Radiants moved out of the relegation Zone following a one nil win over Forest Rangers. Emmanuel Manda scored the only goal of the game which guided Lumwana to 14th place on the log.

Nakambala Leopards on the other hand dropped back into the relegation Zone replacing Lumwana following their one nil loss to Kabwe Warriors thanks to a fourth minute strike from Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba.
