It’s a big match day in South Africa Premier Soccer League (PSL) as log leaders Kaizer Chiefs take on second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
There will be Zambian interest in the match as Lazarus Kambole is expected to line up for Kaizer Chiefs in attack while Chipolopolo first Choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene is likely to start between the sticks for the Brazilians.
Mweene who started his first game for the nine-time PSL Champions in their one-nil win over Highlands Park in midweek will continue to his duty in goal in the absence of Ugandan goalkeeper Dennis Onyango, The Sundowns first choice goalkeeper who has a bereavement.
Mweene will be looking to impress and possibly give coach Pitso Mosimane a planning headache for future games when Onyango returns.
For Lazarus Kambole, He has played seven league games for Amakhosi but he is yet to find the back of the net and as expected he is under pressure from the fans to deliver.
Prior to his move to Kaizer Chiefs, Kambole was the star player for Zesco United and as such, there is a lot of expectations but due to a number of factors the former Konkola Mine Police forward is yet to hit the ground running.
Could today be the day that Lazarus Kambole finally breaks his dry spell and silences his critics? only 90 minutes and additional time will tell.
Kick-off for the match is at 15:30hrs.
