Zesco United open a four-point lead, Lusaka Dynamos return to winning ways as Prison Leopards lose to Mwenya Chipepo

Zesco United opened a four-point lead at the summit following a 2-1 win over Kabwe Warriors while Green Eagles and Lusaka Dynamos returned to winning ways with Prison Leopards losing back-to-back games.

The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week 21 of action on Saturday, with two games taking center stage.

Nkwazi ended their four-match winless run as they edged Green Buffaloes 2-1 at Nkoloma Stadium on Saturday. Crawford Mwaba opened the scores for High Flying Nkwazi in the 28th with a header but Fred Samu leveled matters for the Zambia Army-sponsored outfit in the 53rd minute.

Christopher Zulu put Nkwazi back in the lead in the 68th minute with what proved to be the winner.

In Kitwe, Warren Kunda scored the only goal of the game as Green Eagles returned to winning ways handing Kitwe United their 13th loss of the season.

On Sunday, Lusaka Dynamos returned to winning ways in Solwezi beating Lumwana Radiants 2-0 thanks to a Marvin Jere brace. The win takes them back into the top four as they lie 3rd on the log with 33 points.

Lusaka Dynamos finished the match with ten players after Duncan Otieno was sent off for a second bookable offense.

At Arthur Davies Stadium, Power Dynamos beat Red Arrows 1-0 ending the Airmen’s 4 matches unbeaten run. Mukuka Mulenga scored the only goal of the game.

In Kabwe, A doubleheader came alive as Mwenya Chipepo returned to face Prison Leopards with his new side Indeni. It was Clement ‘Jakuzi’ Mulenga who netted a brace to hand Prison Leopards their second defeat in two games.

In the second match of the day at the same venue, Zesco United beat Kabwe Warriors 2-1. Enock Sakala Jnr put the visitors in the lead in the 15th minute.

Sydney Phiri leveled matters for the magnificent people’s team in the 35th minute but Zesco United regained their lead four minutes later after Adrian Chama converted from the penalty spot.
