THE 2025 edition of the Carling Black Label Samuel “Zoom” Ndhlovu Charity Shield saw ZESCO United edge Power Dynamos in the first electric derby of the season.
The 2024 ABSA Cup winners cruised to a 2-0 win over MTN Super League defending champions Power Dynamos.
It was the Zambia U20 National Team duo of David Simukonda and Pascal Phiri who scored the decisive goals in the first and second half respectively to give ZESCO United their sixth Charity Shield title.
The match came at the right time as the nine time MTN Super League Champions prepare for the start of the new season and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Zega Mambo will face Gabonese side FC 105 in the preliminary stage of the 2025/2026 CAF Confederations Cup.
The Ndola giants will be away in the first leg which will be played between 19th and 21st September in Gabon.
Meanwhile the second leg will be played between 26th and 28th September, 2025 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Zambia.
The winner between the two sides will play either Mighty Wanderers of Malawi or Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy in the second preliminary round.
