Kenya National Team players have been promised a hefty payday day by the country’s head of state should they beat Zambia on Sunday.
The Harambee Stars players will each receive a bonus of Ksh. 2.5 million if they defeat the Chipolopolo Boys on Sunday.
President William Ruto increased the bonus from Ksh. 1 million to Ksh. 2.5 million yesterday after meeting with the players and the technical team in Upper Hill.
It was agreed that a win against Zambia next Sunday would earn each player Ksh. 2.5 million (approximately K450,000) around $19300.
Additionally, if the team wins the quarter-finals, each player will receive Ksh. 1 million and a two-bedroom affordable housing unit in a location of their choice, as part of the #CHAN2024 rewards.
The Chipolopolo Boys are winless in their group having lost their opening two matches, 2-0 to DR Congo and 2-1 to Angola.
Meanwhile Kenya lead Group A with seven points after playing 3 matches, Angola are second with four, Morocco third with 3 points level with DR Congo in 4th place.
