ZESCO United have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Rally Bwalya from NAPSA Stars, according to Zambian transfer expert Wami Katanga.
Bwalya is set to join the Ndola giants as a free agent after successful talks between the two parties this week, with the midfielder having become available following the expiry of his contract with NAPSA Stars.
The move will see Bwalya return to one of Zambia’s leading clubs after two seasons with the Pensioners.
NAPSA Stars confirmed in June that Bwalya was among several players leaving the club following the expiration of their contracts.
The midfielder joined NAPSA in 2024 after spending three-and-a-half years playing abroad, a spell that included time with Tanzanian giants Simba SC as well as South African clubs AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United.
Bwalya’s return to Zambia also saw him regain his place in the national-team picture. In November 2024, he received a late call-up to the Chipolopolo squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone.
He was also part of Zambia’s wider squad pool during the 2023 AFCON qualification campaign, having returned to the national set-up while playing in South Africa.
At NAPSA Stars, Bwalya established himself as an influential presence in midfield. ZamFoot’s report on the Pensioners’ 1-0 victory over ZESCO United in October 2025 noted his role in controlling the midfield as NAPSA secured victory.
The proposed move to ZESCO would add further experience to the Ndola club’s midfield as they prepare for the new domestic campaign.
For Bwalya, the switch represents a return to a club environment familiar to him and another chapter in a career that has taken him from Power Dynamos to Simba SC, South Africa and, most recently, NAPSA Stars.
The transfer is expected to be completed once the necessary formalities are concluded.
