ZESCO Ndola Girls and Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club returned to action in the ZPL Women’s Super League on Thursday.
ZESCO Ndola Girls who are the pace setters this season continued where they had left off before the COSAFA Women’s Championship.
Thandiwe Ndhlovu’s 10th minute strike was enough to give the Zegalicious girls a well worked 1-0 win over Red Arrows.
Charity Mubanga had a goal chopped off by the referee for an offside, 1-0 the match finished.
The win takes ZESCO to 27 points points as they remain the only team yet to drop points this season.
Elsewhere, Noria Sosala scored a late equalizer as Green Buffaloes drew their second game of the season.
An own goal from Rhoda Chileshe in the 50th minute gave Green Buffaloes the lead but Sosala levelled matters in the dying minutes to make sure the two teams shared the spoils.
The draw means Buffaloes remain in 13th place with 10 points after six games. They have six games in hand.
